Intent
The Servant Leader Scholarship in Memory of Andrew Kimmerle provides a merit-based scholarship to one WVCS 8th grade student who plans on attending any accredited Christian high school and exemplifies the same values that Andrew lived out.
Award Amount
$1,000 one-time scholarship
ELIGIBILITY Criteria
The student must be in 8th grade at WVCS and planning to continue on to an accredited Christian High School.
The nominated students are to exemplify these qualities among their peers:
Seeing a need and filling it.
Example: Helping others without being asked.
Quick to help, regardless of the task.
Example: a ready volunteer to get the job at hand done.
Chivalry.
Example: opening doors for others, allowing others to go first, carrying items for others.
Good-natured around others.
Example: playful, well-mannered.
Shows conviction.
Example: stands up for what they believe is right, even if they’re standing alone.
Brave & Bold.
Example: can go against the flow to be a difference maker for the better. Capable of doing hard things.
Natural leader.
Example: peers follow their initiative because there is trust & loyalty established.
Trusted by staff.
Example: given special opportunities & responsibilities because of their proven trust.
Respectful to authority.
Example: teachers, staff, administration. Can respectfully disagree, as well.
